The Fisheries Economics Research Unit (FERU) and the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries would like to welcome Md. Azizul Bari.
Md. Azizul Bari is a research assistant with the Fisheries Economics Research Unit at the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries, University of British Columbia. He previously served as a subject matter expert at the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. He also contributed to the IPCC Special Report’s Chapter 7 on “Managing the Hazards of Extreme Events and Disasters to Promote Climate Change Adaptation,” leveraging his expertise in desk-based research.
Azizul holds a Ph.D. in Environment and Development from the National University of Malaysia, along with an MBA and BBA in Finance and Banking from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
Azizul’s research interests include: Fisheries subsidies, fisheries economics and ocean sustainability, climate vulnerability, socio-economic vulnerability analysis of fisheries, climate change adaptation and mitigation, low carbon & disaster-resilient cities, scenario development and analysis.
