February 13, 2009: Dr. William Cheung, a graduate of the Fisheries Economics Research Unit now teaching at the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom, is interviewed by the BBC for an article titled Bleak Forecast on Fishery Stocks.
The article quotes Dr. Cheung saying:
“The impact of climate change on marine biodiversity and fisheries is going to be huge, …”
“[w]e found that on average, the animals may shift their distribution towards the poles by 40km per decade.”
The results referred to in the article come from Dr. Cheung’s work concerning fish stocks and climate change which are listed on his website at the University of East Anglia.
